Students prefer Selecon at the Central School of Speech & Drama

Founded in 1906, The School offered, at the time, an entirely new form of training in speech and drama for young actors and other students. The choice of name - The Central School - highlights the School's commitment to a broad range of training systems for vocal and dramatic performance that is still reflected today with the school being considered a premiere provider in its field.

When it came time to refurbish the magnificent proscenium style Embassy Theatre...

"We involved the students in the selection," said Mike Seignior, the college's Senior Lighting Design Tutor who also acted as Theatre Consultant and Project Manager, "and when it came to lighting, they opted for the majority of the required zoom stock to be Selecon."

The college, already a user of Selecon lights, purchased Selecon Pacific Zooms, 1200 PC and Arena Fresnels from Selecon dealer A.C. Lighting Limited.

"We have an excellent working relationship with Selecon who have been extremely supportive towards the college and its aims," continued Seignior. "We particularly like Selecon's cool gate lanterns which allow acetate gobos to be used, a great advantage for us and the students."
