Celebrating the Tango!

Recognised as one of Argentina's foremost designers, Ariel Del Mastro made impressive use of a large number of Selecon Pacifics - 47x 12-28s and 63x 23-50s in the lighting design of the stirring stage production of Tanguera - the Argentine musical that brought the evocative story of the tango to life.

Del Mastro used the advanced technology of the Pacific to help restore the brightness, luxury and flavour of the Buenos Aires musicals of the 40s and 50s to the audiences of today.

Following the opening season in 2003 at the historical Teatro El Nacional the show toured internationally, beginning in Spain at the Teatro Alcala Palace in Madrid and then continuing on to the stages of Portugal, Great Britain, Germany, France, Japan and the USA.

All of the Selecon Pacifics used in Tanguera were supplied by Selecon's exclusive Argentinian distributor, PSL S.A.

UPDATE on this story: Antonio Agra of PSL SA advises that at the recent ACE Awards 2002 for Theatrical Productions in Argentina that Mr. Ariel del Mastro again was the winner of the Best Lighting Design award due to his nomination for his work at "Tanguera" and "Fiddler on the Roof".
