Tahi Followspots light the way at the Grand Lisboa in Macau

Opening in February 2007 the spacious, contemporary Chinese style Grand Lisboa Hotel and Entertainment Complex in Macau was amongst the first to recognise the potential for Selecon’s new Performer Series range of Followspots which effectively delivers 2–3 times as much light as current 1.2kW / 2.5kW MSR followspots and sets new benchmarks in performance, output and operator comfort.

Three Tahi 18º-24º short throw Followspots, supplied through one of Selecon’s Hong Kong dealers Prosperity Lamps and Components are in daily use at the new home for the famous Crazy Paris Show, formerly located at the Casino Lisboa next door to the hotel and also on a public stage doing performances throughout the day.

The distinct and iconic architectural design for the Grand Lisboa Hotel was inspired by the lotus symbol of Macau combined with the flamboyancy of headdress plumes of Brazilian dancers and the exquisite intrigue of a Fabergé egg. At night, the base is a kaleidoscope of colours thanks to 1.2 million light emitting diodes (LEDs) on its surface.
