Philips Selecon SPX and Pacifics Deliver Blooming Solution for Argyle Cut Light Installation

23 June 2012,

Sydney, Australia – Mark Hammer of Hammer Lighting had been hearing a lot about the new Philips Selecon SPX Zoomspots and, with a gobo projection concept in mind he thought this would be a good time to see what the hype was about. "When the opportunity came to set up my projections in the Argyle Cut as part of the VIVID 2012 celebration I thought this was too good to be true.

The results using the SPX and Pacific luminaires were even better than we expected. Both Andre Kecskes and I were blown away with the output and optics. My initial intention was to create through gobos and lighting fixtures a larger than life garden on the roof. But it became evident to us as we focused and programmed our installation that we were also showing off the shape, texture and character of the space.

The extra output from the 800W luminaires meant crisp and clear images. The colours I wanted ranged from warm rich ambers through to cool icy whites and we easily achieved these and more with the slow fades across coloured gobos and gel colours. Our thanks to Peter McKenzie from Philips Selecon and to Wayne Kellet from Herkes for their assistance in getting us the luminaires we needed to achieve our vision."
