Philips Selecon and Strand Lighting are set to deliver a dazzling showcase at ABTT 2012

07 June 2012,

London, UK – Hot on the heels of its success at PLASA Focus Leeds and ProLight and Sound, Frankfurt, the team at Philips Entertainment Lighting is gearing up for yet another high-energy trade event in the form of the annual ABTT Theatre Show in June.

This year, for the first time, the long established ABTT Show will be hosted at East London's Old Truman Brewery where Philips Selecon and Philips Strand Lighting promise to deliver an exciting showcase of pro-lighting products. These include the recently released PLCyc1 LED, which combines LED source technology with an asymmetrical reflector, which delivers consistent light distribution without having to compromise performance with spreader lenses.

Visitors will also be able to examine the benefits of the LED Studio Panel, a variable colour temperature soft light that, by using a mixture of amber and white LEDs, offers a range from 2,700K up to 6,000K and draws just 60 watts. Powered via a PowerCon connector from the mains or a four-pin XLR the unit can be handily powered directly from a TV camera. Both fixtures were launched at the Frankfurt ProLight and Sound and both have received extremely positive feedback from the industry since.

"For Philips Selecon and Strand Lighting, the ABBT Theatre Show is an ideal opportunity to showcase the latest products to a spectrum of industry professionals from the UK and beyond," says Grant Bales-Smith, Sales Manager for United Kingdom, Scandinavia & Benelux. "For show visitors, it's a chance to get up close to the latest technology, meet the Philips Selecon and Strand Lighting teams and catch up on the latest company news. We saw an excellent turn out at ABTT last year and we expect to see an even better attendance this year."

But that is not all. The popular PL1 LED display luminaire, which delivers full control of the beam colour composition regardless of intensity, will be on the stand as will the PL3 LED variable beam wash. The PL3 offers clean, colour-balanced whites along with a full range of colours, including the more subtle tints, and has a power consumption of just 400 watts.

In addition show visitors will be able to get their hands on the energy efficient, super bright tungsten stalwarts - Rama Fresnels and the Acclaim Axial, both of which feature new construction materials and passive heat management systems to deliver cooler focus knobs, front accessory slot access and rear grab handle touch points.

Philips Strand Lighting will demonstrate the Lightpack Dimmer with its advanced IGBT dimming technology, which can conveniently be positioned at the light source whenever it's required. Also on stand will be Vision.Net - touch screen technology that opens up connections to a powerful range of entertainment lighting control systems.

Hosted by the Association of British Theatre Technicians, the ABTT Theatre Show promises to be bigger than ever. Now in its 34th year, organisers report that a record number of visitor registrations have been received from theatre professionals, educational establishments, and live entertainment in all its guises.

Of course the Selecon products are particularly apposite this year as the ABTT Show follows the Theatres Trust conference entitled: 'Delivering Sustainable Theatres - the challenge of achieving the triple bottom line', at Stratford Circus, London. Many attendees are expected to visit the ABTT Show with an eye out for the latest in 'green' ideas and technology designed to improve sustainability and efficiency and the Selecon products are exactly that.

The ABTT Theatre Show will take place on June 13-14, 2012 at the Old Truman Brewery in East London.
