Selecon Hui Floods create stunning color wash for "Man of La Mancha"

The Very Little Theatre in Eugene, Oregon is one, if not the oldest and most successful community theatres in the country and is currently in its 78th season of continuous production with a four-week run of the award-winning musical Man of La Mancha, with book by Dale Wasserman, music and lyrics by Mitch Leigh and Joe Darion.

The Theatre runs primarily on volunteer labor, and is entirely self supporting, with a season subscription base of about 1400 patrons.  It owns its facility which has a main performance hall, seating 220 people plus a second "black box" performance and meeting space (Stage Left) which seats up to 100, depending on how things are staged. Marc Shapiro from Sound Illumination, who co-designed the lighting for Man of La Mancha with Amanda Ferguson is responsible for all the technical equipment in both spaces.

Six Selecon Huis deliver the lovely color wash shown in the above photograph, supplied by Marc with units placed as follows: one up-stage, three mid-stage and one on each side of the proscenium which, in his words was 'quite impressive".

Our thanks to Marc Shapiro for providing the photo and the background information.
